 The new tobacco item, named IQOS referred to granted permission to sell in the U.S. Its sparked concerns that another nicotine delivery device is coming into the U.S. market and fall under the youth e-cigarette epidemic.

Even though the iqos duo is an electronic device, the FDA has considered it a cigarette, which means the item is associated with existing limitations for traditional cigarettes.

IQOS is different from cigarettes

Heat-not-burn items are considered different from cigarettes because they are made from the use of actual tobacco. The aspects behind the heat do not burn iqos device is that it permits you to access to feel the device and look like a regular cigarette, excluding the combusted inhaled tobacco. 

The devices are not approved by FDA.

According to FDA, while the decision allows you to sell tobacco products in the U.S., it does not indicate that they are safe or approved by FDA. 

The applications submitted to the company for FDA for two regulatory approvals, one for product marketing and another for a product in the market that is less harmful than the other tobacco products. The FDA takes the decision to apply for Pre-Market approval application. The company has not taken a decision on whether the devices are marketed as less harmful or not as compared to other tobacco products.

It has been determined that heated tobacco products are not considered safe than a cigarette.
